Hi, my name is Sarah Xiao. I am very happy to be part of the Brantner community! I am grateful to be your child’s second grade teacher and am excited to get to know them for the little person they are!

A bit about my teaching career…I have been teaching since the 2003/04 school year, but I still get butterflies out of excitement before the first day of school. I have a range of experience in elementary, but have spent most of my years in primary (kindergarten through third). Teaching reading is my absolute favorite. (Yes, I do get excited about phonics and vocabulary!) I believe that ALL children have a great potential and great strengths. I value a safe environment where we work together, both in and out of the school, to support our children.

I have a wonderful husband, a son going into kindergarten, a middle schooler and high schooler. We enjoy being outside together, playing games, and snuggling while reading books.
