  • Brighton High Drama Presents Fall Show Oct. 19 & 20

    The Brighton High School Drama Department will present a Fall Show on Oct. 19 and 20 at 7 p.m. in the Brighton High School Auditorium, 270 S. 8th Ave. The show is called " If Today is the First Day of the Rest of My Life, I'm in Real Trouble" and is being called an impossible farce presented in two acts. Tickets are available online: Tickets are: $10 for adults; $7 for senior citizens; and $5 for students.

  • Brighton High students and teacher to be recognized at National Scholastic Press Association and Journalism Education Association national convention


    Brighton High School Instructional Coach and Reflections Yearbook Advisor Justin S. Daigle has achieved the Certified Journalism Educator renewal status from the Journalism Education Association (JEA). Daigle will be honored November 3, 2018 at the fall JEA/NSPA national convention in Chicago, Illinois.


    High school senior and yearbook Editor-in-Chief Samantha DeMers and 2018 graduate Will Satler are National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA) finalists in three categories:

    • Best Use of Social Media Reporting (new category): William Satler
    • Best Use of Social Media Promotion (new category): Samantha DeMers and William Satler
    • Portfolio of the Year (new category): William Satler


    Both the finalists and the winners will be recognized at the JEA/NSPA Fall National High School Journalism Convention, Nov. 1-4, 2018 in Chicago. The top winners in each category will receive plaques and the finalists will receive certificates.

  • 3E: Employment, Enlistment, Enrollment talk Oct. 24 for High School families

    Innovations & Options Campus will host a parent information night on "Exploring the 3E's: Employment, Enlistment and Enrollment" for high school students. The presentation is on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 6:30-8 p.m. at the 27J District Training Room, 80 S. 8th Ave. in Brighton. All high school students and their families are invited to attend. The program will include presentations on: Enlistment opportunities presented by military recruiters. Enrollment into higher education and information on the College NOW! Program. Norma Acosta, Front Range Community College Concurrent Enrollment Coordinator, will give this presentation and provide hands-on assistance to students with completing applications. Employment opportunities will be the final piece of the 3E presentation. RocAnn Smith, 3E Coordinator for Innovations and Options campus, will share resources as well as hands-on assistance with applications and/or communication with prospective employers.

  • 27J Schools Demographic Update

    During the September 25 Board of Education meeting, Bob Templeton with Templeton Demographics presented information concerning the district enrollment growth trends. The presentation covered economic conditions in the Denver-metro area, enrollment growth and current and future residential development and growth. 


    Highlights include: new home sales in 27J have grown 30% in the past two years, groundwork is currently underway on approximately 10,900 lots within our District and enrollment in 27J is projected to reach over 22,000 by 2023. Demographic Update - September 2018

  • Brighton High’s Ted Halbert Named to Prestigious NEA Global Fellowship

    Brighton High English Literature and Theater teacher Ted (Edward) Halbert has been selected by the National Education Association (NEA) Foundation to participate in the 2019 Global Learning Fellowship (GLF). The NEA Foundation Global Learning Fellowship increases access to global training and experiences by providing global education professional development opportunities for K-12 public school educators.   • A familiar face at South Elementary will lead the school in 2018

    School District 27J is pleased to announce that former student and current South Elementary Assistant Principal Kristen Puzio has been selected to  take over as school Principal after Kay Collins retires at the end of the school year. Read more.
