My name is Rachel Zierlein and I am SO excited to be working in 5th grade!  I wanted to introduce myself and tell you a little about me.

I am a Colorado native and lived in Lafayette, Louisville, and Kampala, Uganda as a child.  I married my husband, Brian, in 1999 and made our home in Firestone.  We have two boys, Nate, age 12 who is going into 7th grade, and Gabe, 16,  who will be in 11th grade and just got his driving license!

I have always had a passion for teaching.  It first started when I was 12 years old living in Kampala, Uganda with my family.  I would volunteer at the preschool through Kindergarten across the street from our apartment in Kampala.  That passion led me to study at Metro State, and I have taught elementary education for 12 years, including art, history, Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 5th grade. I am really looking forward to teaching 5th grade again this year!
