I hope that this communication finds you healthy and safe! It is hard to imagine that the last day that we would enjoy the creative energy of our students this year was March 12th. It’s even more challenging to imagine that it was the last day that I would be with our students as their principal. I will miss them all so much! In the meantime, I am happy to say that an announcement regarding the new principal should be coming in the next couple of days.
I am hopeful that you have had the opportunity to connect with one of our staff members this week as we finish up Phase 1 of our Remote Learning Plan. If you have not heard from us, please check your voicemails and inboxes. Our hope is to communicate frequently and we do not always have the most updated information for you and your family. If you have not heard from our staff, please contact us at 303-655-2850 or email Jayne Hanavan a firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can update your contact information. For our TLC families, you can expect to hear from Ms. Lauridsen and Mr. Shea this week as well however Phase 2 and 3 of our plan applies primarily to students in Bridge, Heritage, and BOLT.
We will be starting Phase 2 of our plan next week where students will be given an opportunity to complete their Hexter 5 classes by submitting all assignments that were due up to and including March 12th. These assignments are due on Thursday, April 9th at 11:59 p.m. Students will also be receiving an email to select their Hexter 6 courses on Tuesday, April 7th. Also on Tuesday, we will be checking out Chromebooks to those students who need them from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Innovations and Options building, 830 E Bridge Street. We will be conducting a “drive through” check out process and would ask for your grace and patience as we do not know how long this may take. We are dedicated to keeping us all healthy so all Chromebooks have been disinfected and staff will be wearing gloves.
Phase 3 of our plan begins on April 14th when we will begin our Hexter 6 courses. These courses will be offered virtually through Google Classroom. Offline options will be made available to students who do not have access to the Internet.
During this time, you will be contacted weekly by one of our staff members. This person will serve as a liaison between you and our school and can support you through this unique time. To that end, I wanted to share some resources that might help you as we move forward.
