Hello families of Padilla Elementary!

My name is Josh Hawkins and I am excited to be a part of the Padilla Family as your Dean of Students! 

The 2020-2021 School year will mark my 21st in education with twenty of those years being right here in School District 27J. 

I have been fortunate enough to teach at multiple schools within the district including helping to open Thimmig Elementary as well as West Ridge Elementary School. I have spent the last ten years at Prairie View Middle School where I was a sixth grade math teacher and most recently the dean of students for the last three years. 

I am a graduate of Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado where I received a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.  I have also completed a masters degree through the University of Colorado.  

My wife and I have four kiddos that all currently attend 27J schools. We spend lots of time attending games, recitals and coaching them in various athletic endeavors. Our family loves to travel and go camping and if there is ever any extra free time, I really enjoy playing golf! We are all avid Bronco fans and attend as many games as we possibly can each year! We are also big Kansas Jayhawk Basketball fans and also try to get to Kansas one time each season for a basketball game!

I look forward to the incredible opportunity we all have to be a part of a brand new school! I can’t wait to meet all of our families of Padilla and to be able to further serve the community in which I reside.
