Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Lewis

My name is Rachel Lewis. I hail from the big city of Omaha, Nebraska. (Go Huskers!)  I moved out to Colorado to attend the University of Denver, home of the 2022 Hockey National Champions. (Go Pioneers!)  After graduating with a communication and journalism degree from DU, I decided that journalism wasn't really my thing.  So, I enrolled at the University of Colorado at Denver to get my teaching license.  After that, I began teaching 4th grade at Southeast Elementary in 2005.  I taught 4th grade for five years, then moved up to 5th grade, where I have been enjoying teaching since then. I love spending time with my husband, our dog Layla, and our cats Humphrey and Kizzy.  As you can tell, I love watching hockey (Go Avs!) and football (Go Broncos!).  I also really enjoy "glamping" with friends, cross-stitching, and reading.  Although I love to read, my true passion is math.  I went back to school (again) in 2015 to get my master's degree in Math Education.  I believe everyone can be a mathematician, and I can't wait to show all my students that MATH is the BEST!

My classroom phone number is 303-655-2654. During school hours, I am unable to answer the phone because I am teaching a super-engaging lesson in which all students are engaged and living their best lives.
