School District 27J approved new attendance boundaries in April 2016 to accommodate the anticipated opening of the new Reunion Elementary in Fall 2017.
Reunion Elementary, under construction in the Reunion community of Commerce City, will primarily serve families in the Reunion subdivision. The Elementary 12 attendance boundary also covers the Buffalo Mesa subdivision of Commerce City and will include future residential subdivisions in development.
The School 27J Facility Planning Advisory Committee began studying six attendance boundary options in January 2016 and presented three final options to community members during a series of public open houses in March.
The Facility Planning Advisory Committee used public feedback provided during these open houses to determine an attendance boundary area that would best meet the needs of families and the district.
The committee unanimously approved a recommendation at its April meeting and forwarded it to 27J Superintendent of Schools Dr. Chris Fiedler for formal approval.
