Ms. Madeline Kelley, Head Coach
Coach Madeline Kelley first began dancing at the age of 3 in her mother’s dance studio and fell in love with dance. Throughout high school, Coach Kelley trained at a local dance studio and had the chance to compete at regional dance competitions. After graduation, she decided to make dance her profession and life. She began her first two years as a college dance major at the University of Wyoming and then transferred to Metropolitan State University of Denver where earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance Performance in May 2018. Before becoming head coach of RRHS, she helped various high school dance teams with technique and choreography, as well as assisted the Weld Central High School Dance Team place 3rd at the 2016 3A State Spirit Competition. Coach Kelley has trained in various techniques and styles in ballet, jazz, modern, tap and hip hop. She has knowledge in various injury prevention methods and stretching and strengthening techniques.
Coach Kelley has had the opportunity to have her choreography presented at different workshops and conferences in Colorado and Kansas. She has worked closely with local Denver companies and teachers, such as Moraporvida Contemporary Dance, Edgar L. Page, and Leslie Merrill.
Currently, RRHS Dance Team is ranked 5th in state for 3A Poms (2018-2019) and qualified for the 2020 dance team nationals in Walt Disney World.
When she is not teaching and coaching, Madeline likes to perform, spend time with her blue heeler Jack and her family. She is joining us as a Brighton native and BHS graduate. Additionally, she works at Stage Images Dance Studio, teaching ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop and jazz funk.
