End of School Year Marks Start of Summer Bond Projects

End of School Year Marks Start of Summer Bond Projects

As the 2024-2025 school year winds down, the 27J Schools Construction Department is gearing up for a jam-packed summer of projects involving upgrades and improvements at schools across the district. The deadline is tight. These projects, funded by the $515 million voter-approved 2021 Bond, must be finished by the time students return in August.

From new preschool classrooms to parking lot improvements, work is planned at more than a dozen schools and district buildings. One of the most significant projects will be the installation of secure vestibules at Brighton High School, Henderson Elementary, South Elementary, Southeast Elementary and the Sakata Education Campus. Once these vestibules are installed, all 27J schools will have a controlled entrance.

In addition, Public Address (PA) systems will be upgraded at Prairie View and Stuart middle schools while parking lot cameras will be installed at Riverdale Ridge and Prairie View high schools.

In addition to these summer projects, work continues on three major building projects: the North Transportation Terminal in Brighton, Rocky Vista High School in Commerce City and Talon Ridge Middle School in Thornton.
