New, returning Board of Education directors sworn in; new leadership elected

New, returning Board of Education directors sworn in; new leadership elected

The 27J Schools Board of Education swore in its newest members and elected new leaders at its Dec. 3 meeting. 

New director Ramon Alvarado as well as incumbent directors Tracie Alvarado, Ashley Conn and Starr Trujillo, were all sworn in. 

Tracie Alvarado, appointed to fill a board vacancy in January 2025, will serve a two-year term. Ramon Alvarado, Conn and Trujillo will serve four-year terms.

In related business, the board honored outgoing board member, Mandy Thomas, for her eight years of service and also voted on new board leadership positions.

Director Tom Green will continue to serve as board president and Director Melinda Carbajal was elected as board vice president.
