Talon Ridge Middle School opening date still being determined

Construction is rapidly coming to conclusion on the new Talon Ridge Middle School in Thornton.

While construction is on schedule, the school’s original planned opening date of fall 2026 is being re-evaluated based on the latest community growth data. 

Despite the district’s continued enrollment growth, the number of potential middle school students in that specific area who might attend Talon Ridge is currently lower than the district anticipated. The district wants to make sure it is financially responsible in opening the school with adequate enrollment and may push back the opening of the school. 

A decision on the school’s opening date is expected in December. The district will share those decisions with families once they are announced.
