Capital Facility Fee Foundation
The School District 27J Capital Facility Fee Foundation is a unique public/private partnership between municipalities, developers and builders, and 27J Schools. It was established in 2001 to collect contributions from developers and builders to help fund school expansion or new school construction.
Since the Foundation was established in 2001, it has received voluntary contributions from developers and builders of more than $18 million. The Foundation has saved the taxpayers from paying almost $14 million for new school facilities. Developers and builders, city and county officials, and 27J Schools have seen great value in working together collaboratively to help bridge the funding gap between the cost of school capital construction needs and the impact of the Colorado state budget stabilization factor to the district's state funding.
