School District 27J
Adams, Broomfield, and Weld Counties, Colorado
School District 27J in the Counties of Adams, Broomfield, and Weld, State of Colorado, calls for nomination of candidates for school directors to be placed on the ballot for the regular biennial school election to be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
At this election, four directors will be elected representing the director districts 2, 4, 5 and 6. Directors elected for director districts 2, 4 and 5 will serve a term of office for four years. The director elected for director district 6 will serve a term of office for two years. To be qualified, a candidate must have been a registered elector of the school district for at least 12 consecutive months before the election and a resident of the director district, which will be represented. A person is ineligible to run for school director if he or she has been convicted of committing a sexual offense against a child.
A person who desires to be a candidate for school director shall file a written notice of intention to be a candidate and a nomination petition signed by at least 50 eligible electors who are registered to vote in the regular biennial school election.
Nomination petitions may be obtained at School District 27J, Edwin E. Harshbarger Educational Service Center, 88 N. 40th Avenue, Building A, Brighton, CO 80601. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Completed petitions shall be submitted to Lynn Ann Sheats, Designated Election Official no later than 4:30 p.m. on August 29, 2025.
