3. CANDIDATE INTERVIEWS President Green
   
   1. The Board of Education members will be conducting interviews of the candidates to fill the Director District 6 vacancy.
   2. Interview Schedule:
      7:00 p.m. – Additional applicants will be interviewed at 30 minutes intervals if applications are received 24 hours prior to the meeting.
      The following questions may be asked. Questions may be added or deleted at the direction of the Board.
      1. If you have children, do they attend 27J schools? Why or why not? Do you intend to take action while on the Board to change this?
      2. From the perspective of a Board member, what do you believe is the role of teachers in the district?
      3. 27J Schools Mission Statement states: “In partnership with our families and the community, 27J Schools empowers every student today to take control of their future tomorrow.” What does that mission mean to you and how will you support the mission as a Board member?
      4. Why do you want to be a member of the 27J Schools Board of Education?
      5. How do you get feedback from students, parents, community members, and employees of the school district? How would you handle the feedback that you receive?
      6. What is the role of a school Board member?
      7. What is the best way for the Board to be sure it is staying on target?
      8. What do you view as the role of the Board of Education? What do you view as your role serving on the Board?
      9. On the 27J Schools’ website under the Board of Education’s section, the Board Global Goals are listed. What are your thoughts on our Global Goals? Would you seek to change any of them, and if so, why and how?

6. The Board of Education has selected _______________________ to fill the vacancy for Director District 6. This director will serve the remainder of the vacant term until November 2025. Motion by Director ***, seconded by Director *** to appoint _____________________ to Director District 6 to serve until November 2025. ROLL CALL VOTE(Policy Reference: 2.C) President Green Note: The selected candidate will be sworn in at the January 22, 2025 Board of Education regular meeting.
7. EDUCATIONAL SESSION President Green The Board of Education will conduct an Educational Session regarding The Thinking Classroom.

   Director Carbajal, Director Green, Director Thomas, Director Trujillo, and Director Wilhelm were present for the entire meeting. Director Conn was absent from the entire meeting.
3. CANDIDATE INTERVIEWS
   • The Board of Education members conducted interviews of the candidates to fill the Director District 6 vacancy.
   • Interview Schedule:
     6:30 p.m. – Tracie Alvarado
     7:00 p.m. – No additional applications were received prior to the meeting.
     Questions were asked by the Board members. A complete recording of interview will be available at www.sd27j.net for 90 days.
4. BOARD DISCUSSION OF CANDIDATE INTERVIEWS
5. SELECTION OF DIRECTOR DISTRICT 6 BOARD MEMBER
   Motion by Director Carbajal, seconded by Director Trujillo to appoint Tracie Alvarado to Director District 6 to serve until November 2025. Roll Call Vote: all ayes Note: Ms. Alvarado will be sworn in at the January 22, 2025 Board of Education regular meeting.
   The Board took a break at 7:00 p.m. The meeting reconvened at 7:09 p.m. All Board members that were present remained present.
6. EDUCATIONAL SESSION
   The Board of Education conducted an Educational Session regarding The Thinking Classroom.
