BOARD OF EDUCATION MISSION STATEMENT
The Board of Education is committed to the School District’s overall success and improvement.
The central focus of all meetings and discussions will be on establishing, monitoring, and
supporting the District’s goals. We will actively engage all segments of our community in this
ongoing focus and provide an instructional program to assure that our students meet or exceed
the highest and most rigorous standards.

The Board of Education will conduct a linkage meeting with the District’s Community
Partners.
Note: The Community Partners may be dismissed at this time. -
BOARD VACANCY RESOLUTION President Green
Per Colorado Revised Statutes 22-31-129 (2) At the next Board of Education meeting immediately following the occurrence of any condition specified in subsection (1) of this section, the Board of Education of the district shall adopt a resolution declaring a vacancy in the school director office. A written resignation was received from Director Annie Jensen on September 24, 2024. The resignation was accepted at the September 25, 2024 Regular Board meeting. Because of the resignation of Director Jensen, a Resolution declaring a vacancy in Director District 6 needs to be approved. (Enclosure) Recommended motion: “…move to approve Resolution Number Three 2024-2025 declaring a vacancy in Director District 6 as presented.”

BOARD OF EDUCATION BOARD VACANCY
RESOLUTION NUMBER THREE 2024-2025
WHEREAS, Annie Jensen has submitted his written resignation as School Board Director of District 6 of 27J Schools as of September 24, 2024; and
WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of the Board of Education to declare a vacancy in this office and to appoint a successor to Ms. Jensen;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Education of School 27J Schools as follows:
- The Board of Education, acting under the provisions of Colorado Revised Statutes and Board Policy, hereby accepted Ms. Jensen’s resignation on September 25, 2024 and declares a vacancy in Director District 6.
- The Public Information Officer shall publish a request for candidates wishing to apply for appointment, which shall be made by the Board of Education within 60 days as required by law.

Candidates for appointment must:
- be an eligible elector and resident of School District 27J for at least twelve prior consecutive months, as shown on the books of the Adams, Broomfield and Weld County Clerk and Recorder; and
- provide proof of residency in Director District 6; and
- submission of fingerprints to Colorado Bureau of Investigation and receipt by 27J Schools of background-check report showing no conviction of, pleaded guilty or no contest to, or received a deferred judgment or sentence for sexual offense against a child.
Adopted this 9th day of October, 2024.

LINKAGE MEETING WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS
The Board of Education conducted a linkage meeting with the following District Community Partners:- Almost Home
- Kids First Colorado
- Food for Hope
- Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)
- Pennock Center
- Adams County Education Consortium
- Boys and Girls Club
- Brighton Youth Commission
- Community Reach Center
- Richard Lambert Foundation
- Early Childhood Partnership of Adams County (ECPAC)
- Rocky Mountain Partnership
The community partners left the meeting at 7:36 p.m.
A break occurred and the meeting reconvened at 7:44 p.m.
Director Carbajal, Director Conn, Director Green, Director Thomas, Director Trujillo, and Director Wilhelm were present for the linkage meeting and the regular meeting. -

Motion by Director Conn, seconded by Director Carbajal to approve the agenda dated October 9, 2024 as presented. Roll Call Vote: all ayes -
