There is one back-to-school supply every family needs: Chat, part of the 27J Schools mobile app. Are you ready to Chat?

• I haven’t logged into Chat: To set up your Chat login for the first time, follow the instructions under Start Using Chat on our Chat for Families webpage. Then, download the 27J Schools app (iOS | Android) and log in using your username and new password.

• I’m already logged into Chat: You’re ready to go! The official start date for teachers to use Chat will be the first day of school, August 20 for grades K–12. Since you're logged in, you can enter our 27J Schools Swag Pack giveaway.

Connect with Teachers

Chat is where you and your child’s teacher connect, so you’re always in the loop with your child’s learning. In Chat, you can talk directly with your child’s teacher through one-on-one, direct messages to ask questions and work together to support your student. Take a tour of Chat and the 27J Schools App.

In 27J, we value our partnership with families in empowering students. As our partners, understanding how your student is doing in school is key. That’s why Chat is the official classroom-family messaging tool for all 27J district-managed schools—with automatic translation into your preferred language, Chat ensures everyone is part of the conversation.

Starting the Year with Chat

Last year, we heard from some families you weren’t sure if your child's teacher(s) was using Chat. To help, we’re collecting the names of teachers using Chat to connect with families. We'll share that list with you before the school year begins.

Please note, as we begin the year, the Chat Rooms you see in Chat may change as schedules for students are finalized.
