Working with 27J Schools

For large dollar value projects [more than $20,000], the district posts IFBs (Invitation for Bids) and RFP/Qs (Requests for Proposals/Qualifications) on the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System (BidNet) at https://www.bidnetdirect.com/colorado/school-district-27j. All active RFP/Qs can also be found at the bottom of this page. We encourage the periodic review of items posted on the BidNet site as the most efficient and effective way to see district solicitations. There are subscriptions available to be automatically notified of such solicitations. Smaller dollar solicitations may also be posted on BidNet.

Please note that all RFP/Qs are evaluated comparatively for the best contractor/service/supplier value for the District. Informal and formal bids are awarded to the most responsive and responsible bidder submitting the lowest cost bid.

We encourage bidders and proposers to read and understand the documents before submitting their response. There may be mandatory pre-bid/proposal meetings.  There may be a question and answer opportunity for some solicitations. In order to be fair to all, official responses will be issued as an addendum. Ensure that all the requirements are addressed by directly answering requested items and forms as applicable. Submit all responses before the deadline.

Our contracts require compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations, our insurance requirements and the ability for you and your staff to work in a safe and secure public school environment.  That means adhering to the following special conditions:

1. Contractor will comply with the District’s and individual school access policies and procedures, including presenting a valid Colorado driver’s license or other acceptable identification card to be scanned for screening against a national registered sex offender database, and for the production of a daily visitor identification badge with photo to be worn while on school premises.
2. Contractor will inform its employees that illegal drugs, marijuana, alcohol, tobacco products, firearms and other weapons are prohibited on school district property
3. Contractor will not disclose confidential security information to any person or entity without the prior written consent of the District. Confidential security information includes details on school district security assets and systems including electronic access control, video surveillance, detection systems, location and function of lockout and lockdown equipment, locations and types of security assets and systems. Confidential security information also includes school floor plans, drawings, interior photographs, contingency plans and procedures, etc.
