UPDATE 2: 40 PM - 

The Secure that was previously activated at Turnberry Elementary has been lifted.

There will be no changes to dismissal. Dismissal will proceed at the normal time with normal procedures.

Thank you for your understanding as we responded to this situation.

 

UPDATE 2:36 PM - 

Commerce City Police are continuing to respond to an ongoing incident in the vicinity of Turnberry Elementary. Due to the nature of the incident, the Secure at Turnberry may continue longer than typical Secure responses. 

Given the time of day, it is possible this Secure could have impacts on dismissal schedule and procedures.

If there are any changes to dismissal time or procedure, we will communicate them promptly.

The Secure at Turnberry Elementary is continuing.

We understand any security response can be concerning to our families. The Secure status at Turnberry is only a precaution as police respond to an incident in that area.

We will keep you updated on Turnberry’s security status.

Turnberry Elementary has been placed on Secure due to police activity in the area.

All activities are being moved inside and the building is locked. Learning will continue inside with minimal classroom interruption. 

As a reminder, no one is allowed to go in or out of the building until law enforcement alerts administrators it is safe. Please do not come to the school until the Secure has been lifted.
