Dr. Jennifer Cano-Smith

Hi! I’m Jen Cano-Smith, your Brantner school psychologist since 2014.  2021-2022 will be my nineteenth year as a school psychologist. My work here focuses on supporting students and parents on their journey through special education. I am part of the mental health team at Brantner, which includes our school counselor and Community Reach school based therapist,  providing mental health and behavioral support to all students.

I’m originally from California, and graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a B.A. in Psychology and Art. My husband and I have been living in Colorado since 1997. He also works for SD27J as a school counselor. Both of our children attend 27J schools. I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Denver. In addition to my work at Brantner, I teach psychology at Metro State University. Most of my university students are in training to become teachers!
