Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science/Sports Medicine
Mrs. Eryn Balding
I am originally from Broomfield, CO...a rare native! I graduated from Broomfield High School in 2001 and moved up to Fort Collins to attend the best college in the world, Colorado State University. I played soccer at CSU and graduated in 2005 with a B.S. in Health and Exercise Science with a concentration in health promotions. I then moved back to the Denver area and attended Metro State University of Denver to earn my teaching license in secondary science education. I spent a few years as a personal trainer while teaching and coaching girls high school soccer. My first teaching job was here at Prairie View High School the year the school opened, and I taught seventh grade science for two years while the school was a combo middle-high school, and then moved to teaching Biology and Honors Biology at the high school my third year. I left Prairie View in 2009 to pursue a masters degree in Seattle, WA, but was brought back for family reasons within the first year. I have spent the last four years coaching girls soccer and teaching Biology and Physical Science at Doherty High School in Colorado Springs, CO. Once again, family brought me back up to the Denver area last year and I was lucky enough to be welcomed home to Prairie View.
I am one of the strength coaches here at PV, and I also teach health and serve as the P.E. department chair. This year I am also the Student Council (StuCo) adviser, and I am super excited for the new opportunity!
