    First Lego League Explained:
    What is First Lego League?
    FIRST LEGO League provides students with an exciting experience in a global robotics program that ignites an enthusiasm for discovery, science and technology. The FIRST LEGO League teams are guided by a team coach and assisted by mentors. Students research and solve real-world problems based on the challenge theme, present research and solutions and build an autonomous robot (LEGO Mindstorms NXT) using engineering concepts.
    How many students will be selected?
    We will be selecting 6-8 students. Students will be notified of their selection.
    When will the First Lego League DURING ADVISORY "Tiger Time"  Club start?
    We will begin meeting in the Technology Lab (A133) at PVMS  starting Tuesday September 4th, 2018.
    How long is the First Lego League Season?
    Students selected to be involved in the First Lego League Team at PVMS will be in the Tech Lab during Advisory "Tiger Time" starting Tuesday September 4th 2018 and ending on November 17th, 2018. More explanation/communication to follow as students are selected. 
    How are students selected for this Robotics Club? What Criteria matters in the selection process? 
    Grades- Good Academic Standing   Behavior- Displays Pride, Respect, Responsibility & Safety    
    Background knowledge in Robotics, Coding/Programming & Lego Engineering (Construction with Legos)

  • The 2018 FIRST LEGO League (FLL®) challenges kids to think like scientists and engineers.  During the 2018/19 INTO ORBITSM Season, teams will choose and solve a real-world problem in the Project. They will also build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO®MINDSTORMS technology to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game. Throughout their experience, teams will opoerate under Core Values celebrating discovery, teamwork, and Gracious Professionalism®.

    In this challenge, teams will build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game.  They will also choose and solve a real-world question in the Project.  Throughout their experience, teams will operate under FLL’s  signature set of Core Values. Challenge Release is August 1st, 2018!
