Hello and welcome to my page! I am extremely excited to be a part of the Prairie View Thunderhawks teaching team! I will be working with the SSN program teaching students Math, Social Studies, Science and Life Skills.

My first career started at Colorado State University where I received my Bachelors of Arts degree with a focus on Social Work. In my career as a social worker I pursued several job opportunities; a case worker for the Developmentally Disabled, a discharge planner for a major hospital and as a child protection worker for the Department of Social Services. I realized throughout my career as a social worker I was always teaching people how to help themselves. 

I had my first exposure as a "teacher" through the 4-H dog project in 1998. This positive experience provided me with so many rewards that I decided to change career paths; from social worker working with troubled families to a teacher of struggling students. This did not come as a surprise to many that knew me well as I have always been an advocate for those with disabilities and a passion for others to be successful.

I was fortunate to have found the Western State Colorado University's teacher education program. I attended in 2010/2011 and earned my teaching endorcement then continued on to complete my Masters with a focus in Reading in 2014. Along the way I earned a Math Intervention certificate from Adams State University. I have been a Middle School and High School Resource teacher for the last 10 years and am thrilled to be a part of the Prairie View High School Special Education Team.

Period Seven Intergrated Math 1
