The acronym SWAAAC stands for State Wide Assistive Technology, Augmentative and Alternative Communication. Each district has a team and the mission is to provide services, equipment, and training to students with disabilities, school teams, and families. This support is designed to help the students obtain equal access to the curriculum and fully participate in their education. This multidisciplinary team consists of speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, a teacher of the visually impaired, and special education teachers.
