Our Math Teachers
Ms. Krysta Daigle
Math Learning Leader
Mrs. Daigle grew up outside of Phoenix, AZ. After high school, she attended Concordia University-St. Paul and earned her bachelors in Mathematics. She also played Division II soccer at Concordia and was a 3-year starter. Following graduation, she moved to Jacksonville, FL where she taught for 4 years. In June 2012, she moved to Colorado and is here to stay. She taught at Mountain Range High School for 3 years before staying home with her young children while earning her master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Mathematics.
Over the past 8 years of teaching, Mrs. Daigle has taught Algebra, Algebra 2, Geometry, Precalculus, Math 2 and Math Analysis/Trig including honors courses. She has also enjoyed coaching volleyball, soccer, and track throughout her career.
Mrs. Daigle loves teaching math, connecting with her students, and helping them grow into well-rounded individuals. Her energy and excitement to teach and learn math is contagious and helps her students to get excited about learning as well. She is most excited about starting new school traditions, building comradery among students and staff, and developing a great culture at Riverdale Ridge!
She is thankful for her supportive husband (Zack), daughter Avery (5), and daughter Brynn (3).
Ms. Chelsea Frye
Math Learning Leader
Mrs. Frye grew up in Aurora, CO and then attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins to earn her Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with an emphasis in Education. She started her Master's degree in teaching Mathematics while teaching at Greeley West High School the following year. She then taught at Brush High School and Fort Morgan High School.
Mrs. Frye has taught classes ranging from Pre-Algebra to Trigonometry. She has also been involved with the student council at each of the schools she's taught in.
Mrs. Frye was married on the perfect Pi Day (March 14, 2015) to her husband Kellen who is also a math teacher. They have two children, Phillip (2) and Blythe (4 months) and a dog named Digit. She has grown up attending CSU football games and is now carrying on the tradition by taking her children with her (Go Rams)!
What Mrs. Frye is most excited about Riverdale Ridge is getting to start new school traditions, being a part of a school that feels like family, and being a Raven!
Ms. Lori Jones
Teacher Lead Learner/Math
Ms Jones (“Ms. J”) grew up in in Casper, Wyoming, and attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie, where she got her first Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems with a minor in accounting. After working in that industry for a number of years, then staying home to raise her children for about ten years, she realized that her heart was in education. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Mathematics Education in 2011, and began teaching at the middle school level. She began working at Horizon High School in 2013, teaching subjects from freshman math up to Trigonometry and Discrete Math. She received her Master of Arts Degree in Learning and Technology in 2015.
Ms. J’s favorite part of teaching is connecting with her students and igniting in them an excitement for learning.
Ms. J has three children, one who is out of the nest working as a Mechanical Engineer, one a sophomore at Front Range Community College, and one a freshman at the University of Wyoming. She enjoys working on her house, playing with her dog and cat, and hanging out with her children.
Ms. Susan Winkel
Math Learning Leader
Ms. Winkel was born and raised in the Denver area and is a graduate of Wheat Ridge High School. She continued her education at the University of Northern Colorado (Greeley) where she earned an undergraduate degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting. After working in the business world for several years, Susan went on to earn a degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education from Metropolitan State University and later received her Master’s degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education from the University of Northern Colorado.
Susan joined the inaugural staff of Riverdale Ridge after teaching at Standley Lake High School in Jefferson County for 18 years. She lives in Brighton with her husband Dave and enjoys spending time with their grown children Sarah and Taylor.
