Mrs. Tina Phibbs
Teacher Lead Learner/Science & PLTW Biomedical
Mrs Phibbs is so excited to be a part of the Riverdale Ridge Community. She can’t wait to share her love
of science and adventures with her students.
Mrs. Phibbs grew up in Greeley, Colorado. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado
State University, her secondary science teaching license from the University of Northern Colorado, and
her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado at Denver. She
began her teaching career in the Jefferson County schools teaching at Arvada High School and Everitt
Middle School for 6 years. She took a leave of absence from teaching for 5 years to be a stay at home
mom to her 3 children.
Mrs. Phibbs is currently in her 15 th year of teaching in District 27J. She helped open Pennock K-8, Prairie
View High School, and Prairie View Middle School. She is currently teaching 8 th grade at PVMS.
Mrs. Phibbs has been married for 25 years and has 3 children ages 23, 21, and 19. She also has 2 dogs, 2
cats, a chinchilla, and a turtle. Mrs. Phibbs has also been a gymnastics judge for the past 29 years. She
also enjoys traveling, running, hiking, theatre, and spending time with her family.
Mr. Mark Guengerich
PLTW Engineering & Science Learning Leader
Mr. Guengerich (Mr. G) has taught at Brighton High School since 1998 and is pleased to now join the RRHS team. He grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and north-central Indiana. Before coming to Colorado he taught at Shahse River School in the Republic of Botswana for 3 years and at Goshen High School in Indiana for 3 years. He loves to travel and spends most of his free time enjoying his family, including occasional camping trips.
Ms. Kristina Knezel
Science Learning LeaderI'm very excited to join the team at Riverdale Ridge High School. I attended Metropolitan State College of Denver, receiving a Bachelors of Science in Biology and minor in Chemistry. Later, returning to get my teaching license in secondary education. For the past six years, I've taught science at Thornton High School in various courses including IB Biology, General Biology and Chemistry.In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two sons, traveling to the mountains and being at the lake.
Ms. Erika Stripp
Science Learning Leader
Ms. Stripp was raised in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. She graduated from Glenwood Springs High School and then attended college at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. She gained her bachelors in Chemistry with an emphasis in secondary education.
Ms. Stripp taught for two years in the Cherry Creek School District at Overland High School. That is where she started her education and coaching career. She has coached high school volleyball for two years and will be an assistant coach for the Riverdale Ridge Team.
Ms. Stripp believes that education is the foundation that a community is built on. A teacher must supply his/her students with the knowledge they need to strive and succeed in their community. She is very excited to be part of the Riverdale Ridge community!
When Ms. Stripp is out of the classroom, she enjoys watching and playing sports. She also enjoys being outside and spending time with friends and family.
