    Ms. Stephanie Guilliams

Ms. Guilliams went through elementary school as a struggling, shy, and disengaged student, having attended too many to remember before the sixth grade.  Her family then settled in Brighton and she developed into a nationally competitive horsewoman. School was still a challenge however, and she was told by counselors and teachers that she wouldn’t be able to do a lot of things because of her grades and test scores.  At the age of 17, as a senior in high school, she hit a growth spurt and got too big to be a race horse jockey and went to Bel Rea Institute and became a veterinary technician which allowed her to work with animals for fifteen years.

Having found her passion and motivation for learning as a wife and mother of three, she enrolled at Metropolitan State University where she earned straight A’s and a Bachelor degree in Biology/Mathematics.  Ms. Guilliams enjoyed teaching Science at Brighton High School for ten years and earned her Master degree in Counseling through the University of Phoenix during that time. She then helped open BOLT Academy where she served in multiple teaching and counseling capacities for four years before returning to Brighton High School as a Counselor in 2017.

She looks forward to sharing her creativity, compassion, determination, and lessons learned through experience with the students of Riverdale Ridge and she can’t wait to see what our community will accomplish together.  In her personal time she enjoys spending time with her expanding family, reading, crafting, home improvement, fitness bootcamp, kickboxing, paddleboarding, running, and birdwatching.

Kristin Matero is joining the Riverdale Ridge Leadership Team in the role of Special Education Team Leader and she will also fill the role of School Psychologist when the building opens in the fall.

Kristin attended University of Northern Colorado and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2003 as well as her Education Specialist's degree in School Psychology in 2010.  During her pursuit of her graduate degree, Kristin worked in residential and day treatment schools as an educational paraprofessional.

Kristin has worked in Brighton School District 27J since her internship year in 2009.  She completed her internship and 5 more years at Vikan Middle School before transitioning to Brighton High School in the fall of 2015.  Kristin holds strong values in providing an educational experience where all students with their diverse needs can thrive.

Kristin and her husband have two boys ages 6 and 4 who enjoy a variety of activities including baseball, karate, dance and ninja classes. Kristin also enjoys traveling, spending time with family and raising money for non-profit organizations.

    Caitlin Mellon

    Ms. Caitlin Mellon

Caitlin Mellon is very excited to be starting her first year with the Riverdale Ridge High School student support team as a school counselor. She was inspired to be a school counselor because of her tough upbringing and lack of caring adults or counselors in her school. She is the first in her family to go to college, attending Longwood University in Virginia for a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. After many years working in the non-profit field, she decided to go back to school in pursuit of her Master's in School Counseling at Capella University.

She is excited to help our Ravens explore their passions, help them navigate post-secondary planning and be a resource for them throughout their four years. When she isn't at school, Caitlin can be found exploring the outdoors with her husband and dog. She and her husband are expecting their first child in December.
