Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Katie Padderud

I am originally from Stillwater, Minnesota and began teaching in 2002 after graduating from Gustavus Adolphus College with my degree in elementary education and middle level science education. I moved to Colorado in 2007 and have been teaching in District 27J ever since!

As a mathematician I enjoy using logic, patterns and numbers to solve problems and puzzles every day. As a scientist, I am fascinated by the world around me. Chemistry, astronomy and geology are my favorite areas of study and I enjoy learning more about each of them as I explore the world. Chemistry is in everything, including the garden that I grow each summer! I deepen my understanding of geology every time I go hiking or visit a new place, astronomy each time I look at the night sky, and I had the unique opportunity to learn more about Galileo Galilei and other early scientists when I visited the Galileo Museum in Florence, Italy in the summer of 2017.
