Since I was a grade school student myself, I loved teaching and learning. I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, where I went to college and started my career in education. I've taught in both public and alternative schools, as well as acted in a school counselor role in Pennsylvania. I'm a history nerd and love to write and read. As a national certified counselor and teacher, I'm invested in my students' personal and academic growth.

Growing up, my family had very strong ties to our community and local history. Both of my great-grandparents were immigrants, and many of my relatives served in the military throughout the last century. I was always told exciting stories of my ancestors and fell in love with researching and learning about the historical context of them. As a reader, I enjoy a wide range of literature. I am a Harry Potter superfan!
