College and Career Readiness

  • 27J schools believes all students can achieve at the highest levels and commits to ensuring every student succeeds through a variety of pathways into adulthood after high school.

“The mission of 27J Schools, with support of the family and community, is to ensure that ALL students have the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for present and future competence and success.”

The student of today is the citizen, the worker, the parent, and the leader of tomorrow.  In the year 2039, our students will be engaged in society in ways we cannot understand today.  Rapid technological advancements and the interconnectedness of and access to information have changed the landscape of how we work and live.  In 2039, acquiring information will be replaced by a whole host of skills that will require a great deal more of our students than our traditional approaches have offered.  These skills include:

    • Entrepreneurial Skills - Critical Thinking, Problem-Solving, Inquiry, Analysis, Innovating, Creating, Risk-Taking

    • Personal Skills - Perseverance, Self-Awareness, Initiative, Personal Responsibility, Flexibility

    • Interpersonal Skills - Collaboration, Communication, Cultural/Global Networking, Civic Engagement, Character

    • Professional Skills - Time Management, Career Awareness, Information Literacy, Productivity, Self-Advocacy, Use of Information and Technology, Leadership
