While I was born in California, I grew up in Castle Rock, Colorado. Upon graduating from high school, I attended Colorado State University as a Chemisty major.  After much reflection, I transferred to Metropolitan State University of Denver and graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in English with an Emphasis in Secondary Education in 2002.  Upon graduation, I worked as an adoption recruiter, then followed my heart to the classroom.  

I previously taught in a traditional brick and mortar public school as well as an public online school in the Denver Metro area.  Becoming a parent has made me a better, more thoughtful, teacher.  My son, RJ, is starting second grade, while my daughter, Tori, is just starting her school career in Kindergarten.  I'm thrilled to be a part of the Thunderhawk/PVHS family this year and I look forward to learning and growing with my students.  I am excited for a fantastic 2019-2020 school year!
