Mr. Andrew Otto

Hello, my name is Andrew Otto.

I have been teaching here at North since 1999. I enjoy our student population and the Love and Hugs from all the different students. We have very wonderful children at our school and they make it easy to come to work.

I have taught in several different schools before making Brighton my home. I started in a small town in North Dakota as a K-12 Band, Choir and Elementary Music Teacher. It was my first teaching job after attaining my Bachelor’s Degree from a small Teachers College called Mayville State College. After teaching in the small rural town for five years I moved to Colorado and taught 1 year of K-5 Music in Aurora. I then moved back to North Dakota to teach 6-12 Band and Choir on a Reservation School. After one year there I moved back to Colorado and left education for 7 years to pursue other interests. All the time I was out of education I found myself teaching people in other industries that I was associated with and always missed being in the classroom. When I moved to Brighton I learned of a Teaching Job at North and decided I wanted to be in education again and when I got this position didn’t look back. I like seeing the students I taught as adults now and still maintain contact with students from my first teaching job. It is great to see children grow up and become productive members of society. While working here I have received my Master’s Degree in Education Leadership from DU as well as Level One Orff Certification at UNC.

My hobbies include: Camping; fishing; hunting; hockey and grandchildren and of course MUSIC.

I have been married to my wife Paula since 2000 and between us we have four daughters, 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
