Mrs. Karen VonFeldt
Education is a second career for me. My teaching career began in 2005. Prior to that, I spent 15+ years working in the business community. On a daily basis, I encountered the critical importance of communication – a message I try to connect in my Language Arts classes as students wrestle with honing their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. I have had the privilege to work with Prairie View Middle School seventh grade Tigers since the building opened in 2008.
My husband and I are Colorado natives. The highlight of our summer is an annual family vacation with our daughters and their families which includes four grandchildren and two granddogs. I am an avid reader, love to garden, and snuggle with my Irish setter, Bailey. My students and colleagues will say that I am a “neat freak.”
My goal is to build students' confidence in their skill and ability to be successful communicators. The class webpage is the primary resource for student assignments, and it is updated for the upcoming week on Sunday evening. Infinite Campus posts student scores and is updated weekly by Wednesday. As needed, I notify parents by e-mail about missing assignments and failing grades. The best way to contact me with questions or concerns is via e-mail. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
