Ms. Frances Bell
I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Colorado, which makes me a Colorado Native. After graduating Pomona High School in 2000, I spent the next four years of my life in Minnesota, going to school at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. I doubled majored in Elementary Education and Science and Mathematics for Elementary Education with a 5-8 emphasis. I then left the Land of 10,000 Lakes and returned to Colorful Colorado. My teaching career started in 2004 in Denver Public Schools. At Kunsmiller Middle School I taught eighth grade math and science. I then transferred to Merrill Middle School and taught seventh and eighth grade math for the next four years. While I was at Merrill Middle School I also coached cross country. The first five years of my career provided me with a strong foundation for teaching middle schools. I decided to apply for openings at other districts and was offered an opportunity to teach at Prairie View Middle School. During my time at PVMS I continued to grow as a learner in the classroom. In March of 2010, I finished my Masters in Education with a degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment through Regis University. I have continued taking various courses since then, including Rocky Mountain Math Teacher Circle courses. In the spring of 2018, I completed my second master's program in Culturally Linguistically Diverse Education through University of Colorado at Denver.
In my free time I train for half marathons, cook healthy meals, and go to Colorado Avalanche games.
