Hello! My name is Kristin Simcox and I’m so excited to be a 5th grade teacher at Brantner! I’ve been a teacher in 27J since I started teaching back in 2007. I was part of the team that opened Brantner back in 2012 and it truly has the BEST students and staff around. I’ve taught Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade and worked as an instructional coach. 

I grew up in Michigan and went to college at Knox College in Illinois, with a degree in Elementary Education and French. I have my Master’s degree in Cultural Equity and Linguistic Diversity from the University of Colorado at Boulder. 

My husband, two daughters and I live in Brighton, and my oldest is a Brantner Bengal, too! We love to bike ride, hike and have dance parties as a family. I love to read, and learn new things about teaching, government/history and different places/cultures around the world. I’m a big fan of dark chocolate, popcorn, dark coffee, the musical “Hamilton”, and 5th grade (the BEST grade)!
