Ms. Kelly Spear
This is my third year teaching economics to both high school and college students. I am passionate about economics because I believe that students are empowered when they learn to assess trade-offs and understand the costs and benefits associated with decision-making.
Prior to teaching, I spent eight years as an international business consultant in Washington, DC. My clients were multi-national corporations seeking to expand their businesses in the U.S. and abroad. I leverage my professional experience in the classroom by crafting simulations and discussions based on real-world scenarios that get students excited and engaged.
I have a bachelor's degree in political science from Boston College and a master's degree in international economics from Johns Hopkins University.
I speak speak Spanish, French, Italian, and a tiny bit of Russian.
When I'm not teaching, I spend time with my husband, two young kids, and two goats.
My favorite pastime is rock climbing and you won't catch me without a cup of coffee in hand.
