About Me

I started my teaching career in 2008; building a Visual Arts program at a new school in Cherry Creek School District. I have been teaching Visual Arts here at Brighton High School since 2013.  GO BULLDOGS! My courses include Photography, Drawing and Painting 1, 2 and 3, Mixed Media and Introduction to Art. I received my B. A. in Visual Arts with a concentration in K-12 Education and an emphasis in Photography as well as my M.A. of Art and Design at the University of Northern Colorado.  My artwork has been shown and sold at the Mariani Gallery, Oak Room Gallery and University Center of the University of Northern Colorado.  I have also participated in Relief Printmaking shows around the Weld County area. I spent two summers studying abroad in Italy, Greece and London focusing on Italian Renaissance artwork and film photography.

I believe that education in the arts develops self-esteem, stimulates imagination and encourages openness towards the opinion of others. Through creative experiences, students learn to think critically, problem solve and come up with innovative solutions. By studying a mixture of art history, various mediums, styles, time periods and cultures; students recognize that differences are to be welcomed, not rejected.

discover. create. inspire.
