Open Enrollment - Choice of Schools for the 2026-2027 School Year Now Open
27J Schools allows any student to apply to attend any 27J school or program based on availability
27J Schools allows any student to apply to attend any 27J school or program on space/program availability as part of its Open Enrollment - Choice of Schools program. Before submitting an application, please review the following list for important reminders and to determine if an Open Enrollment - Choice of Schools application is necessary.
- Open Enrollment-Choice of Schools is only for students that are interested in attending a school that is not their boundary school. You may click Find Your Child's School or School Boundary Area Maps to find your boundary area schools.
- Open Enrollment - Choice of School applications can still be submitted for the current 2025-2026 school year by clicking the button below.
- Open Enrollment-Choice of School applications for the 2026-2027 school year opened Jan. 6, 2026. Applications received from Jan. 6 to Feb. 6, 2026 will receive priority
consideration. All district-managed schools will be accepting applications during the priority consideration period. Applications received after Feb. 6, 2026 will receive secondary consideration depending on space/program availability.
- Parents will receive an email by March 6, 2026 from the Open Enrollment school of the priority enrollment status.
- To enroll at Discovery Magnet School, you must first apply and be accepted from their lottery system. The lottery application window opens Jan. 6, 2026.
- PRESCHOOL - If your child will be going to preschool, you do not need to submit an Open Enrollment-Choice of Schools application. To apply for Preschool, please click here.
- The district does not provide transportation for students that open enroll.
