Curriculum Adoption: IGD

The Superintendent is required by state law to determine the educational programs to be carried on in the schools of the district. The curriculum shall be aligned with the Superintendent-adopted content standards.

Accordingly, after planning by the faculty and with the approval of the administration, all new programs or courses of study, as well as the elimination and extensive alteration of the content of current programs and courses, will be presented to the Superintendent.

Generally, new courses will be introduced on a pilot basis and will be evaluated at least annually by the Superintendent. When the administration feels that a pilot course should become a regular part of the curriculum, such a recommendation will be presented to the Superintendent.
