Employee Fringe Benefits: GCBD
- Personnel: G
Benefits, in addition to basic salary, are recognized by the Superintendent as an integral part of the total compensation plan for employees. The benefits extended to employees shall be designed to promote their present and future economic security and provide incentive for professional development that will be of benefit to the district.
All employees scheduled to work thirty (30) or more hours per week in a regular budgeted position are eligible for the District's health, dental, vision and life and AD&D insurance plans. Coverage will become effective on the first of the month following employment. The District will pay an amount for the subject benefits according to the master agreement and/or the classified negotiated agreement. Employees may be responsible for paying part of the premium costs for any of these benefits. Employees also may participate, at their own cost, in the District's tax-sheltered annuity program (403b) and 401K plan.
Employees regularly working thirty (30) or more hours per week not covered by a negotiated agreement shall be extended fringe benefits other than separation benefits and incentives at least equal to that of other employees.
Per State law, school district employees must participate in the Public Employees' Retirement Association in which both the employee and the school district make monthly contributions. This program is mandatory for all employees except high school student workers or others specifically exempted by law.
Workers' Compensation
All district employees are covered under the Workers' Compensation Insurance Plan and shall be entitled to all the prescribed benefits.
Family And Medical Leave Act
Employees are entitled to benefits of the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 as specified by law.
