Liability Insurance: EIB

Comprehensive general bodily injury and property damage liability insurance, including the same coverage’s for district-owned automobiles and buses shall be carried under a master policy. Coverage shall extend to employees while driving a district-owned vehicle. The district's automobile liability coverage also covers the district for use of non-owned vehicles by district employees. Auto liability purchased by the district does not extend to the employee while driving his/her own vehicle, regardless of whether or not they are on district business. It recommended that employees utilizing their own vehicle for school purposes carry automobile liability insurance of limits no less than $100,000 per person, $300,000 per accident and property damage of $25,000 per accident, or $300,000 combined single limit coverage.

Personal injury (libel, slander, defamation of character, false arrest, false eviction) is made a part of the contract and all employees and volunteers are named as additional insured’s. Employees injured while on district business are covered under workers' compensation.

The limits under the District's contract are $400,000 each occurrence. Errors and omissions coverage is also provided in a separate contract with limits of $1,000,000 for each loss.
