Organization of Instruction Grade Level Configuration: IE
- Instruction: I
The Superintendent shall provide for a system of education suited to and open to all eligible residents of the District. The system shall be arranged in developmental levels known as grades. Education will be provided for students in kindergarten through grade 12 with alternative programs available as appropriate.
Teaching services shall be carried on in close cooperation with such auxiliary services as curriculum development, research, guidance and health.
The standard pattern of grade level organization will include grades K-5 in elementary school, grades 6-8 in middle schools, and grades 9-12 in high schools.
As the District grows the Superintendent may consider and determine alternative grade level configurations in new schools based primarily on student space needs.
Grade level configurations in new schools may be subject to reconsideration as enrollment and space needs dictate.
The core instructional program for all grades will be delivered in all schools whether the school contains the standard or alternative grade configurations. Elective options may vary in schools.
