Professional Staff Supplementary Pay Plans/Overtime: GCBC
- Personnel: G
Certified staff who are assigned to duties which require extra time or responsibilities
over and above their contractual obligations shall receive extra compensation in
accordance with a supplementary salary schedule set annually by agreement between
the Superintendent and recognized representative of the certified staff. Most stipends
shall be paid on an annual or seasonal basis.
The approval of work for supplemental or additional pay includes but is not limited to
stipend work, additional class sections, coverage, and other duties outside normal job
responsibilities.
It is critical to the functioning of the school and the district that the supervising
administrator has the opportunity to evaluate work that requires supplemental or
additional pay against existing budgetary priorities and constraints. Therefore, certified
staff will be assigned additional duties for supplemental or additional pay (including
supplemental duties/pay outlined in the agreement with the recognized representative of
the certified staff) only after obtaining the administrator’s advance, express approval for
the duties of the assignment and the associated supplemental pay; or, in the case of an
urgent student support issue, immediately upon assignment of such duties.
Administrators are responsible for verifying that any offered supplemental pay aligns
with the existing agreement with the recognized representative of the certified staff.
Administrators may not delegate compensation related authority to non-administrators.
