School Owned Vehicle: EEBA-1

Transportation for home-to-school routes or special trips may be provided by means of district-owned vehicles. Priority shall be given to students within the district, however the vehicle may also be used for trips by district employees or elected school officials when such use would be more suitable and cost efficient than the use of an automobile.

The general administration and maintenance of the passenger vehicle shall be the responsibility of the director of finance and auxiliary services and the supervisor of transportation. Priority for use of the vehicle shall be recommended by the supervisor of transportation and approved by the chief financial officer.

The operation of the vehicle shall comply with "Colorado Rules and Regulations Governing Operation of School Transportation Vehicles" 1978, Revised 1982, as well as all other annual testing and compliance requirements. Drivers of the vehicle shall be restricted to district employees or elected school officials.

The district-owned passenger vehicle shall be based at the transportation terminal and shall be under the general supervision of the director of transportation. The director of transportation shall permit and schedule the use of the vehicle to those drivers who are eligible under the "Colorado Rules and Regulations Governing Operation of School Transportation Vehicles".
