Free and Reduced Program
Each year, families should provide their household income information by completing the Free and Reduced Benefits application.
By completing the application, you will be supporting our district in accessing additional federal funds that will go directly to our schools to help cover the cost of meals, as well as after-school programs, educational programs for students and classroom funding. Plus, families who qualify may receive discounted school fees, class materials, bus passes, utilities support and more!
For questions about the Free and Reduced Benefit application, call 303-655-2986.
A new application must be completed every school year, unless you receive a Direct Certification letter by email and/or in the mail dated for the current school year. Paper applications are available at your child's school in August of each school year or the 27J Nutrition Services offices (630 South 8th Avenue, Brighton). We encourage you to apply online for faster processing.
Quick Help
Tips for Applying
- A new application must be completed every school year.
- Complete only one application per family, even if you have children attending more than one school in the district.
- DO NOT complete an application if you have recently received a Direct Certification Notice in the mail and/or email. Emails will be sent out during the month of July and letters will be mailed out during the month of July and continuously throughout the school year.
- Please read the letter you received carefully, verify the school year it is for, and follow the instructions.
- The system will not allow a family to submit an application for students that have already been approved through the Direct Certification process for the 2023-2024 school year. This means the student has already been approved.
- If any children in your household were missing from your eligibility notification, contact 27J Nutrition Services, 630 South 8th Avenue, Brighton, CO 80601, 303-655-2986.

- If your student is new or returning to the school district this year, the school must have them registered and active in Infinite Campus in order to locate them in the system.
- Student ID numbers that start with a "0", will need to be inputted into the system without the "0" (For example student ID number is 00123456, will need to be inputted as 123456).
