fiedler Dr. Chris Fiedler became School District 27J Superintendent of Schools on July 1, 2012. He previously served as principal of Prairie View High School and Thimmig Elementary, both in School District 27J. Dr. Fiedler’s career began in 1993 as a social studies teacher and counselor at Limon Jr.-Sr. High School. He was named principal of Limon Jr.-Sr. High School in 1995 and served in that role until 1998.
    He served as superintendent of the Gilpin County School District in Black Hawk, Colo. from 1998 to 2001 and then as superintendent of Deer Trail School District 26J in Deer Trail, Colo., from 2001 to 2005 before joining School District 27J as the principal of then-new Thimmig K-8 in 2005. He was named principal of Prairie View High School in 2008. 

    Dr. Fiedler grew up in Iowa, moved to Colorado with his family and graduated from Greeley West High School. A graduate in social science with an emphasis on secondary education from the University of Northern Colorado, he received his master’s degree in educational administration at the University of Phoenix. Dr. Fiedler received his doctorate in educational leadership at Nova Southeastern University.
