  • Secondary school schedule to change in fall 2018

    In a continued effort to actualize the ideal classroom learning experience, the Thinking Classroom, all 27J middle and high schools will start no earlier than 8:30 a.m. beginning fall 2018. The final schedule for all schools, including elementary, will be released by Spring Break (March 2018). For more information.

  • Upcoming Kindergarten Round-Up Dates at 27J Elementary Schools

    Parents are encouraged to attend upcoming informational Kindergarten Round-Up events at the elementary school where their child will attend kindergarten for the 2018-2019 school year. A Kindergarten Round-Up will be at West Ridge Elementary School on Jan. 24, 3-4 p.m.; Thimmig Elementary Kindergarten Round-Up dates are Jan. 24, 2:45-5 p.m., Feb. 28, 2:45-5 p.m. and March 21, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. for paperwork only; Reunion Elementary Kindergarten Round-Up dates are Jan. 25 and March 15, both at 5-6:30 p.m.; Brantner Elementary School on Jan. 31, 5-6:30 p.m.; Northeast Elementary on Feb. 8 at 5 p.m.; Second Creek Elementary on Feb. 15, 4-6 p.m.; and Henderson Elementary on Feb. 27, 5:30-7 p.m. and March 14, 2:30-4 p.m.

  • Pioneer Summer Camp registration opens in February

    School District 27J's Pioneer Summer Camp registration will begin in February. The summer camps will be located at these five schools: Brantner, West Ridge, Reunion, Second Creek and Thimmig elementary schools. Currently enrolled families can register Feb. 1-14; new families can register starting on Feb. 15. Check back here beginning Feb. 15 to register.

  • Open Enrollment Dates in School District 27J: Jan. 9-Feb. 9

    Open enrollment applications for students in School District 27J are available online and will be accepted starting on Tuesday, January 9 through Friday, February 9. Contact the school of your choice to complete the open enrollment process. Please note: middle and high school boundary areas are changing in 27J for the 2018-2019 School Year due to Quist Middle School and Riverdale Ridge High School opening in August.

  • Application process for Achieve Institute runs Jan. 6-Feb. 22

    Achieve Institute, School District 27J's program for gifted students, will begin accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year on January 6. Achieve Institute serves gifted students in grades Kindergarten-5th at Pennock Elementary School and will serve 6th and 7th grade students at Vikan Middle School next year.   • Riverdale Ridge High School Information Night on Jan. 10

    School District 27J's third comprehensive high school will open to students in August 2018. A Family Interest Night about Riverdale Ridge High School will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. at Brantner Elementary School, 7800 E. 133rd Ave. in Thornton. Information will also be provided about Quist Middle School, which will also open to students in grades 6-8 next fall on the Riverdale Ridge campus. For more information, call 303-655-6800.

  • Achieve Institute Open House & Elementary Classroom Tours on Jan. 25

    Parents and students interested in Achieve Institute, 27J's school within a school for gifted students, can attend an open house on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 6:30 p.m. at Pennock Elementary School, 3707 Estrella St. in Brighton. Tours of the Achieve Institute elementary grade classrooms and project room will be at 7 p.m. For more information, call 720-685-7536.

  • You're invited to join the School District 27J Facility Planning Advisory Committee!

    The FPAC is made up of parents, community members, school administrators and teachers, municipal planners, classified and certified employees and District staff.  Some of the responsibilities of the committee include reviewing enrollment projections for short and long range planning of future schools, evaluating and recommending school attendance area revisions and grade configurations, and evaluating and recommending names for new schools.

    Meetings are held every third Tuesday at the District Educational Service Center, 18551 E 160th Ave., Brighton, CO 80601.
