Jorstad selected as 2020 SNA Director of the Year for CO

Congratulations to 27J Nutrition Services Director Tony Jorstad for being selected as the 2020 School Nutrition Association Director of the Year for the State of Colorado!
Tony and his stellar team play an important role in student success, providing nutritious meals to fuel their busy days. In the midst of COVID-19 school closures, Tony and his team have willingly taken on the role of frontline heroes. Their dedication and passion is a testament to the work being done by school nutrition professionals across our state.
"I am blessed to have served the students of 27J Schools for most of my career... Our staff takes pride in the fact that we have a chance to positively impact every child we come in contact with each day, knowing that we provide fuel for thought," said Jorstad in acceptance remarks for the award.
"I could not be more proud of how our staff stepped up in the midst of the pandemic to continue to provide meals to the children of our district...They have provided grab-n-go service out the back doors of our school kitchens while braving the elements, including blizzards, rain, wind, and now 100 degree heat. Many of our staff continued to do it because they know that for many of our children, the meal they have provided may be the only healthy meal they receive that day and that gives them a great amount of pride."
Tony, 27J salutes you, your work, and your team!
