Tiger Tuesday Memo 4/7

Happy Tuesday Tiger Families,

I hope this update finds you well and healthy. It was so nice to see so many students at PVMS yesterday, even if it was 10 at a time and through masks. I was hoping the students missed us as much as we miss them, so it was nice to hear them articulate how much they wish they were back at school! Thank you families for bringing the students to gather materials needed to begin distance learning.

Thank you all so much for accepting or returning our calls last Thursday and Friday. As a staff we were able to connect with 550 of our 627 families. Before having students come to school yesterday, our survey reported that 453 students and families identified that they were ready for remote learning. I hope the others were able to get what they needed from the school yesterday!

The number one issue identified yesterday at PVMS from students and families as well as in the needs assessment was a need for chromebook chargers. Sadly, we do not have any extra at the school, I reached out to the district and they gave me this link for families to order one if need be.

Distance Learning:
Distance learning began today, April 7, 2020. I hope students were able to log-in and connect with their Tiger Team Teachers. Content lessons will be posted tomorrow no later than 8:30 am. Remember ideally students are not working on assigned school work from PVMS for more than 2 hours a day. Students will be receiving feedback, next steps, or responses to their learning each week. If your child has not been able to engage in distance learning, please email Grace Bird so she can set you up with their Tiger Team teacher and get your student connected.

Athletic Fees:
The District Finance team is working diligently to calculate reimbursements for Spring athletic fees that have been paid. We should have all calculations complete and reconciled within the next two weeks, and reimbursement checks will be sent out at that time. The Athletic fees that will be reimbursed at the middle school level are Boys & Girls Track and Soccer.
