Tiger Tuesday 8-25

Tiger Tuesday News
August 25, 2020

I am excited to share that last week we had four successful orientation days at PVMS. Our teachers were rejuvenated by the students and for the first time ever, it was so wonderful to hear middle school gossip (we’ve missed them that much LOL)!!! Our 7th and 8th grade in-person learners, got an introduction to our new normal and did a fabulous job with all the changes!
This week we welcome our 6th grade in-person learners, our online only, and our SSN students back into the building. While it isn’t the red carpet welcome we are accustomed to giving our 6th graders, we are confident that our 6th grade students will leave this week feeling welcome and excited to be back at school.

Health Screen:
Before sending your student to school please be sure to complete the health screener located in Infinite Campus. Upon arrival your student will be temperature checked and given a verbal health screener. Any student exhibiting a temperature of 100.4 or higher will be escorted to our isolation room where they will wait for their parent / guardian to pick them up.

Please be sure to send your child to school with a mask (and a spare). Students must wear their masks anytime they are on campus. Masks may be removed for lunch and while outside at recess. Teachers will also be providing mask breaks throughout the day. Bandanas and neck gators do not qualify as an appropriate face cover.

Chromebook Update:
Incoming 6th grade students or NEW students who have not received a chromebook, may come to the window in the vestibule (main entrance at PVMS) and gather a chromebook. Students need their chromebook for orientation, so if they do not have them yet, please prioritize this.

Bus Sign-up:
I know transportation sent out a memo last week but I wanted to remind you that Transportation has re-opened their registration. If you would like to register for district transportation please get on the district website and go to the transportation link and sign-up.

If your student did not bring their supplies to their orientation day, please send the supplies with them on their first day of in-person school on either September 1 or 2. If your student has chosen fully online learning please be sure they are in a safe and quiet place to work and that they have all their supplies easily accessible.

Message from PVMS Nurse:
Parents needing to drop off medications are welcome to come in through the main entrance and speak with Ms. Leslie through our new vestibule window. Our nurse Ms. Melania will then come up to meet you to attain the medications along with any health care plans.
