Happy Tuesday! 

I hope this Tiger News finds you well. We are moving into our second week of ALL students working fully remote. It is so hard to principal with an empty building, the hallways are so quiet, there are no kids to play with at recess, and no students to compliment my holiday shoes. We miss the students so much and can’t wait to be back in person with them on January 12, 2021.  

Before recapping the logistics, I wanted to touch on something I’ve noticed on a couple of neighborhood Facebook pages. It appears that there are questions on Facebook about student attendance. Families are concerned that their student is logged into the class, but is being marked absent. Please remember that in order to mark your student present, we must see them while they are in class. This means their camera MUST be turned on. Students need to be on-time and must remain on the screen until the teacher dismisses them to either work time or dismissal. We often have kids logged in with a black screen and when this happens, we cannot mark your student present. We have to be able to verify the identity and safety of your child in order to mark them present. We are accountable to the state for accurate attendance and will continue to use their camera being turned on as our method to accomplish this. At the end of each Google Meet, Google provides teachers with a report of who was present at any time during a Google Meet and for how long they were present. Please remind your student that they must have their camera on to be marked present.

Below you will find information for nutrition, schedules, and technology support during our remote learning period. 

 

Nutrition Services Update

On Tuesdays, December 1-15th the district will be providing breakfast and lunch for all students for free. 

Distribution at PVHS, BHS, and RRHS   
Six breakfast and six lunch meals per student will be distributed
Distribution hours:11:30am-1:00pm

PVMS School Schedules for December 1, 2020 - January 12, 2021

 

Please note that during the window of December 1, 2020 - January 11, 2021 all students will be learning remotely. Students will continue to learn NEW grade-level content during this time and are expected to be fully engaged in all their classes. Semester grades will still be earned through-out this timeframe. 

Please help your student be successful by setting up a quiet work space where they can learn uninterrupted from 8:00 am-4:32 pm. 

If your student is already a full online (4 days a week) student their schedule will remain the same. If your student is a blended learner please look below for their grade-level schedule and have them follow it with fidelity Tuesday-Friday during our remote learning window. Attendance will be taken for all students every class, every day. In order to be marked present, we MUST SEE your student on camera. Your student must be logged in on time and stay in the google meet until the teacher dismisses them for the day. 


From December 1, 2020 to January 11th, 2021 all 27J schools will be operating fully remote. Students that are currently enrolled in our online program will continue their schedule with no changes. Students that are enrolled in our blended learning program will follow the following modified schedules. They will have synchronous classes everyday and attendance is required for these classes.  Electives classes will remain on the current schedule.
